Immigration Think Tank Press Release (ITTPR) Corpus, 1998-2020

A dataset of 976 press releases: from two far-right organizations, the Center for Immigration Studies (N = 155) and the Federation for American Immigration Reform (N = 377); as well as two left-wing organizations, National Network for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (N = 117) and Women's Refugee Commission (N = 327). The publication date of the press releases ranged from 1998 to 2020 (median of 2015), Date were collected by Dustin Stoltz and Marshall Taylor in 2020.

A data frame with 976 rows and 7 variables.

Variables

  • title. Title of the press release

  • date. Date of publication

  • text. Full text of the press release

  • organization. Organization issuing press release

  • lean. The political lean of organization (Right or Left)

  • doc_id. Unique ID for each press release

  • n_words. Total words in press release
